A Note From Rev. Richard Waugh
- National Superintendent of New Zealand |
"I am delighted to encourage Drew and Amy as they prayerfully consider
their
ministry life after marriage. This truly is an exciting time for them
and
their families. Here in New Zealand we are prayerfully supporting them
and
looking forward to welcoming them to Middle Earth! Drew's visit with us
in
February as part of the Atlantic District Mission team was a time of
real
blessing.
The Wesleyan Methodist Church of New Zealand was formed in 2000 and Amy
and
Drew will be visiting at the time of our 5th anniversary. God has been
good
and we have grown to eighteen congregations with 30 pastors and a
youthful
demographic. In June we had our second Wesleyan Family Convention at
Lake
Taupo in the middle of the North Island with about 300 people present
for a
really inspiring time of teaching, worship and fellowship.
At East City Wesleyan Church (ECW), the 'anchor' Church of the
denomination,
we desperately need a pastor with music and youth giftings and are
wanting
to explore whether Drew is the right person for this task. We are also
developing community ministries through our own LifeGrowth Community
Trust
and are keen to see whether Amy's skills and giftings will find a place
there. ECW is helping to grow two other Churches and help assist the
whole
denomination so the prospect of Drew and Amy joining our Church planting
movement is exciting indeed.
We are most grateful for Canadian brothers and sisters who are
interested
and encouraging of our Wesleyan work in New Zealand. Let us really
support
Drew and Amy, a special couple, as they dedicate themselves to the Lord
in
marriage and the exploration of missionary service.
Blessings,
